Keep Moving Forward

It is said that failure is the mother of success; it means failure is often a stepping stone towards success. There are many people who used to fail many times, but they never give up, keep moving forward, and become successful.

Thomas Edison, a terrific scientist in the 20th century, is a good example of people who did well from breakdowns. He always got quite a few difficulties before inventing something new. Nevertheless, he kept on doing experiments until reaching his goal. As a result, he made 1300 inventions for the world-It was really a huge number! Nowadays, some of his inventions still play important roles in the world such as electric lights and electric power distribution.

Another person is Isaac Newton, one of the most marvelous scientists who had influence on human history. Unfortunately, his father had died before he was born. Newton began studying at the King’s school when he was twelve years old. Strangely, Newton didn’t study very well; Newton’s rank was just 15th of twenty two students in class. Consequently, he was expelled from school and his mother wanted him to be a farmer. Actually, he didn’t want to become a farmer at all. After that, Henry Stokes, who is a master of the King’s school, convinced his mother that she should bring him back to the school. Therefore, Newton continued to study there. Due to his feeble body, Newton was bullied by many other giant students. To retaliate, he tried his best to study and get an excellent final report at the age of eighteen. Before that, no one had believed that Newton could succeed in his future. Having studied and worked hard, he declared Newton’s law of motion and his theory of gravitation, which have been used widely all over the world until now. (Wikipedia)

Albert Einstein, too, a wonderful theoretical physicist in the 20th century, used to suffer from a lot of collapses while studying at school. It was unbelievable that he got dyslexia, a developmental disorder that causes learning difficulty with reading, writing, and numeracy. Thus he wasn’t able to speak at the age of 4 and read at the age of 7. He was thought to be a student who is mentally retarded, always looked like walking on air with stupid dreams. Despite of his disability, he always tried his best to study and became a top student in school. He invented the theory of relativity specifically mass–energy equivalence which had great effects on the history of science.

It didn’t make a difference to these people how many breakdowns they had to deal with, but the most important thing was they had never been daunted. They always went on studying and working and became very very great people.
